7 REASONS I LOVE MY CHURCH

  1. It's Messy.  It's not filled with people whose lives are all-together and are trophies on display.  It's filled with messy people with messy lives that God takes and does miraculous things with, in spite of themselves.
  2. It's Not All About Me.  Even though I'm the Lead Pastor, my church is equipped by God's Holy Spirit to run with me or without me.  It's God-powered, not Tom-powered.
  3. It Needs Me.  This is not a contradiction.  It can operate without anyone, but always operates better with everyone.  Everyone is important there.
  4. It has a Great Vision.  It truly wants to Introduce Real People to a Real God.  Really!
  5. It has a Crazy Faith.  It's willing to go anywhere and do anything to please God.
  6. It's Generous.  This Church is willing to give up things it loves for someone it loves more.
  7. It's Fun.  My Church knows how to laugh...at me, at itself, at the world.  We value having Fun.  We don't take ourselves seriously, but we take God very seriously.
                    I LOVE CROSSPOINT CHURCH!!!!!!

CHRISTIANS DON'T KEEP COMPANY WITH SINNERS

     Ever heard that one?  Oh, my hand is up.  I heard that.  I heard it all my years growing up in a Christian home.  Christians aren't to hang out with non-Christians.  Why?  Because that's what the Bible says.  Duh!  1 Corinthians 15:33 says it plainly...“ Bad company corrupts good character .”  There it is.  Christians are not to be hanging around with sinners...lost people...unbelievers...people who don't follow Jesus.  It will corrupt their good character.  So, just say no!    If you're a Christian parent ...a good Christian parent, you'll get your kid in a Christian school, playing in a Christian T-Ball league, playing some good instrument (that is appropriate for use at church, of course), make sure their radio only tunes into KSBJ (God's Listening, right?), and most of all, DO NOT LET THEM HAVE FRIENDS THAT AREN'T CHRISTIANS...from good Christian families.  Real Christians.  If you don't watch their every step, I mean every step, they'll m

BACK TO NORMAL

I think if you asked just about anyone on the street what they'd really like to see happen soon, the top answer you'd get would be, "I'd just like everything to return to normal."  Don't we all? Wouldn't that be wonderful! I know it seems pretty awesome to me.  I know everyone's definition of normal isn't the same, but I still miss that time. You know, when we went to movie theaters and malls. When we didn't need to wear masks, we didn't argue about them or label people for their opinions on them. When people didn't huddle in their homes in fear. When we went to church on actual church campuses, in-person, and shook hands...and even hugged each other!  Yep, I want to get back to some sense of normalcy so bad that I just ache for it.
